How do you trust people with staff power?

How do you go about trusting people enough that makes you give them staff power to be mods or admins?

 

Hmm, I tend to go with people I know in rl. Not that they do much staffing!

 

If I make someone staff I try to get to know them.

 

I have to have worked with them before for quite some time, know them personally, or be related to them.

 

i guess you just have to trust the people and in the long time they will gain your trust

 

Picking someone to be mod or admin, (if you needed another admin), they need to on the forum for a good amount of time, posting, maybe helping someone and showing respect, also report posts that are inappropriate, if i see that, then I'll most likely make you a staff member.

 

I have to say that I follow most of the stuff that Jon P. just said.

 

so far, those who apply as a staff member I've already met in some other forums before, so I know their ability. other than that, I always give them the chance to grow and learn. if they feel like they can't do it, they are free to leave their position. ^^
