So, I recently thinking about getting a customized skin for my community one day, and was curious - how many users here have paid for a skin before? How much did you pay?

I paid about $800+ for the skin I purchased for vbsetup back in the day.
I just simply couldn't do that on either of my forums now.
I guess I'm not really interested in making money off my current sites like I was with my last one.. so I don't have as much revenue from it :(
I could see myself spending $300 for a nice style these days, or a way to customize an existing one.

I paid miner like 500+ once for a style. It was very nice and he always made excellent styles, but I agree paying that much now seems kinda meh. I think if I thought it would hel I might go near 100 bucks, but yeah I am with you on not being able to do it now.

I never paid for any for skins of mybb, vb, phpbb, wordpress, ipb and xenforo.

In most of the forums I am Gloabl mod or super mod where I can access VIP too so I get everything in free. lolz.

I don't think I've seen anyone making skins for $300 especially for a nice one. Unless I'm mistaken. I remember paying for a coded/design for $500 a couple years ago for vBulletin.

I've never paid for one myself, coming from the MyBB background with all free themes (some were paid but they averaged $5-10) but I hear some complex themes in vB can go for $1000+.

I had a custom skin down for around $400 a few years back. Before that I had another custom skin done for $200. I've also paid for premade skins but won't go over $50 a pop,

The most I've paid was $45. :) It wasn't custom, hence why it was cheap.

I've had two made for my writing forum and hope to get one down the line for my family forum after it's been established. I have a light and dark matching theme on the writing forum, which I (and many others) think are fantastic. Originally, I was supposed to buy the first one for $300 and the second for $150 (ish), but because of some complications on the designer's end, both prices got cut back quite a bit to $50 and $75 equaling a grand total of $125. The designer I worked with was and still is fantastic, I'd recommend them to anyone.

My previous style cost about $10, new one was done by me which is still being tweaked.

The most I was ever willing to spend on a theme was about £30, the reason being is because when I was running my forum, I was only 16, so with no income from the forum, it was hard to put money into it.I suppose that's why it didn't really work the way I'd wanted it to.
