Some communities run into tensions between members and such - and drama comes out - so I was curious have you ever had to deal with drama on your community? Did you ban anyone because of it, or what happened?
Believe it or not my brand new community had already had some drama. I had a guy copy and pasting off other websites and I banned him. Then he tried sending me hate messages. But I haven't heard from him in 1+ weeks.
That's never a good idea to ban someone for something they've done on other sites. No wonder the guy sent hate messages: You should've waited it out and then took action on your own forum. Just because you have someone saying, "so and so did this on other sites" doesn't mean you should get the banhammer out straight away. That would be like me banning someone for spamming Forum Promotion when they haven't even committed so much as a minor infraction on my site.
Ya, trolls suck - they tend to do things on purpose, to try to breath some type of drama into the community. What's your method of dealing with them?
Haven't had any recently but a few months back there was alot of drama.. but being a forum admin and owner dealing with it is your job and its bound to happen so there is nothing you can really do except trying to solving the problems that lead to it.
Ya, either from trollers or people who just don't like the forum. But, drama also = pageviews, it sometimes brings out the best in everyone. Especially if the drama started from a debate topic or something./
