Well this place looks interesting thought maybe someone here had some hints for me.I am building my new computer first time builder i am and i got everything except the led connections.I had issues with the front usb on the case cause it didnt match what the motherboard said but i found it out online. Now i am wondering about my front panel sound its only the headphone jack and mic but they dont match what my motherboard says so i dont know which ones to put them in please help.Lexy
welcome to the soup! feel free to post an intro in the newb hatchery. your case might not be compatible with your mobo/sound card, but others here will know more than i do. ever met missleo?
Well the usb wasnt labled correctly either but i got that haha so i know the sund will work its just labled different.
What are the labels you're dealing with on the case and on the motherboard? Without knowing what's labeled incorrectly or differently, it's going to be hard to suggest a fix.
Welcome to the soup, lexyluv! :shake: Hope you enjoy it here! Good luck on your computer-building project, there
Likewise there. I agree with Diesel (I myself am not the expert on the subject of computer building though) that you should make your own thread in computer forum with your specifications. That way someone from our group can help you in a more detailed manner. :embarass:
ok so the motherboard manual and motherboard say AGND | +5va | BLINE_OUT_R | Nothing | BLINE_OUT_L ---------------------------------------------------- MIC2 | MCPWR | LINE OUT_R | NC | LINE OUT_L sorry lined it up best i could haha My wires say: return R, Return L, Spkout R, Spkout L, GROUND, MIC BIAS, MIC IN so as you can see they dont match up could you please help.
If I had to guess, I would say this combo would be the one to use: If this is your motherboard config: Code: 1 AGND ground used by analog audio circuit 2 +5VA filtered +5v used by analog audio circuits 3 BLINE_OUT_R right channel audio signal return from front panel 4 NO PIN 5 BLINE_OUT_L left channel audio signal return from front panel 6 MIC2 front panel microphone input signal 7 MICPOWER microphone power 8 Line out_R right channel audio signal to front panel 9 NC reserved 10 Line out_L left channel audio signal to front panel Then my guess is this: GROUND to pin 1 MIC IN to pin 6 MIC BIAS to pin 7 return R to pin 3 return L to pin 5 Spkout R to pin 8 Spkout L to pin 10 I stress, this is a GUESS on my part, so try it at your own risk, but it looks like the logical setup to me.
well it cant screw anything up can it cause its only front panel sound Also which one is the computer speaker you know the one that beeps and stuff i think i already have that installed but i dunno
Be careful, because it can potentially screw something up. If you hook it up incorrectly, and hook up a lead carrying voltage, and then plug something in that shouldn't be fed voltage, it's very likely something will burn out. For example, if you plugged SpkoutR into MICPOWER, then you could potentially kill the speaker. Not saying it's definitely going to happen, but when things get electricity on circuits that aren't supposed to get much current, good things don't typically result.
so do you suggest doing it the way you said or what i dunno what to do than also it doesnt matter which way they are facing does it?? i dont think so
