Nice look Alien! Heaps lighter and brighter.....bit harsh on the eyes at the mo, but I'll mess with screen reso or invert color.... ( what psi said ) to get it where I want it. :nod:

I'll be using your comments to improve the skins look. I want to add much better contrasting blues inside of the tables and work on better placement of icons inside of posts.. Stay tuned...

i love the color...i love the buttons...but it's painfully slow in loading for me. Not sure if it's just my comp or what...but I had to wait almost 4 minutes for the front page to load. Now, I just clicked to preview this post and it took more than 2 minutes for it to load for me.
This is the main problem that caused me to stop coming the first time. I get really impatient and don't want to wait.
I really don't think it's my computer though. I've only had it since June and I never abuse it or download a bunch of junk. It's still in 'new' shape.

 

What kind of connection do you have Spacek8?
It might be your firewall, or it might be because you're using a HTTP Proxy. It could also be your ISP or Modem.
The total filesize of the images (all of the images; icons, buttons, header, footer etc) is about 100kb (rough estimation). Should take only 30 seconds on dial-up and if your browser settings are set correctly your browser will cache the images; Which means you won't have to download them every time.

 

I guess i have a question what is the style?

 

painogb> You have your style currently set to Dark Invasion, which is the old style.
On the bottom of the page, you'll see a pull-down menu. Switch it to Lightspeed, and see the new style.

You can change your personal default in your UserCP, under options.

 

Mine says Dark Invasion in the upper right. But it's set on Light Speed.
I don't geht it? No matter,though. It works fine.

If I may....
If it's not dial-up that you are using,you may be bogged up with adware.
You might check that.

I do have to say that I don't like the fact that the reply button is at the top of the thread. I think it should be at the bottom. But, just my opinion.

Things are pretty zippy on dial-up as I just tested it a couple of times again just to be sure... The site is significantly faster in every place that it can be. Are you trying to access aliensoup.com main page or just forums.aliensoup.com (the portal hasn't yet been re-configured for the new software version update and will fail to load) but I'll be doing that shortly. Are you getting slow loading on any other site? Keep me posted...

 

Icon placement is not permanent, I will be changing it to be on top and bottom.

 

The pulldown menu at the bottom of each page is just a quick-change to test out the styles and see which one you prefer. If you like one over another and want that choice reflected in your posts you will have to SAVE the change by going into your User CP/Edit Options area and submit your choice. All set!

 

Portal now functioning, and working with both skins.

Of course I have to re-add all the custom boxes into the portal but at least I worked out the display bugs...
