Twitter Vs. Facebook - Most effective for website promotion?

Which one do you think is the most effective for website promotion and why?

I voted for Twitter - Because I find it the best tool for a webmaster to use for promotion. Most webmasters use twitter more often than facebook, and you can meet alot of webmasters that way through twitter, but not with facebook.

I think twitter is a great tool if used properly.

 

I like to promote on Facebook more than I like to promote on twitter. Its more complicated, but in the long run it pays off really well. I also think facebook has more features that will help you promote your website more easily ( Automatic wall posts, pages, groups, etc ).

 

I use twitter more than Facebook for marketing - I send out my links, and also send it to people. Facebook is good to, because I market things things in the bipolar support group.

 

Facebook seems to do really well with arcade style sites, one of my friends gets about 800 hits a day from Facebook just from his featured game of the day. Not bad if you ask me. If you update it regularly with something it's bound to draw visitors to your site if something interests them.

 

I've voted that Twitter is the best, because you can advertise then ask your followers to retweet it to all their followers and so on. However, Facebook is also good because you can create like pages that all the member of the forum (or whatever you are advertising) can like then the link spreads all over facebook. So overall both methods are good but I think with the format of Twitter, it is superior.

 

Yea I agree, the way twitter has its system makes it a better tool for promotion.

 

Facebook will be good if you had a business but if you want traffic, I would prefer twitter. Most on facebook just like chatting but in twitter I found many people interested to visit or join a site.

 

Yea same here, Businesses have all, but yea facebook suits a business better.

 

I prefer Facebook. Bcuz its cheap and most effective way.
