Does it matter if an admin is very young or very old to run a great forum? In my opinion, no it doesn't because it depends on the person's maturity level. In todays internet age shouldn't matter as we all are technically same on the internet, there are 10 year old trolls, and there are 40 year olds trolls.. so age is just a number on the internet.

So whats your thoughts? Does the age of an admin matter?

No it does not, it matters on how mature they are inside and deal with the administration of the forum, etc.

Yes I agree, I have seen some great very young admins... I'd never think they were 13 or 14.

To a certain extent. A particular forum I somehow joined sends me bimonthly emails telling me if I don't start posting, they'll consider closing my account. Basically, "Post now or we won't let you post in the future".

Yet the account is still open.

Admins like that shouldn't be running forums, but if you know what you're doing and you're getting a decent postflow, then even if you're nine years old I don't really care.

(Actually, speaking of that, wasn't there a nine year old that wrote an iPhone app?)

Nope you arent, some of the most experienced webmasters are around that age. But age is not a factor.

Yes I agree but some young admins think only teens can make good admins
and it was a 15 year old that said I was too old
I did check his forum out a had to laugh he had 300 members and under 5,000 posts he was saying his forum would do better than mine because of his age
I told him to come and look at mine his reply was " no thanks I do do forum`s with old admins"

I'm only 16 and I think I'm running a fairly successful forum. I don't think age matters. It's grammar and maturity that matters.

It doesn't matter for me.. Joel has Advertise Hotspot with this awesome activity and he's 14.. He made it while he was 13 I think..

Also Neil has Double 16 which is known among all darts players over all the world and he's something like 60+..

It's just experience and professionalism in my opinion :)

some people sorry you had to go through that Fiona.
Mosty of the time age doesn't it's a maturity thing. You could also agrue that sometimes maturity comes with age. Not all the time just some times
