Okay, last domain thread from me for a while... Do you have YOUR NAME (real name) as a domain? Some legal professionals are now suggesting that you do that, if it's not already taken (common names, etc...). I have several variations of my name...initials, fully-spelled-out, etc, AND my future married name. I personally think it's essential if you ever plan to make a name for yourself as an artist or programmer or whatnot. Not that I ever will achieve that, but at least my domains are prepared.
I've thought about this, but have never really been convinced that I'd really need it. What does everyone else use their name as a domain for?
Oops. Sorry. :o I usually search for existing topics, but for some reason I didn't this time. Actually, I'm using mine right now as my business name and I have a couple of domains as subsidiaries of that business. In Minnesota, if your business name has your full name in it you don't need to register it in order to conduct business under that name. So my Tax ID is under that name. I do need to register my DBAs (Doing Business As...), tho. I need to get on that before I launch my Rhinestone shirt biz.
Don't worry about it, Chani. This thread is fine. I have a version of my name as a domain. I purchased it about a year ago and I haven't used it for anything. Perhaps a personal blog?
I'm not going to bother buying my name because I'm not trying to make a name for myself. My plan is to quietly get rich and then rule the world from my vault
Count me in that Michelle! On topic, no I do not, I will though along with my username, which has become a part of me. Unable to say my name? Then people usually call me FMB [pronounced like eff emm bee]
Yes, I do. First(nickname)+last.net -- Nick Rodriguez.net I planned to use it as a blog, but never got around to putting it to good use. I may eventually use it as a portfolio of my projects, freelance forum-work I do, etc. Just a representation of who I am and what I do and work on.
Oh don't be sorry! I have both my real name and my long-time username, ohiosweetheart, for domains. But when it came time to actually start a personal blog, I didn't use them, lol. I went instead with onebuzymama.com (which I am!).
Yes, yes, and yes. Did I use one to many. I'm greedy and didn't want anyone else to have my name. Not to mentions my name is shared with 474 people in the US. How Many of Me So no I don't want to share. No I don't use it. Maybe someday an ancestor will have an official site or something.
I have one of my old time usernames as a .co.uk, but I don't use it.. There are 1,612 people in the U.S. with your name..
