I have never had to hire a designer. But if I did, the first one I would ask would be Peggy. I currently use 2 of her free themes. The couple of questions that I asked in her support forums were answered in a professional manner. Over at digital point I recommend people to her forum all the time Themes by Design After Peggy, I would ask Brandon from vbulletin-setup
I have always been confused about these. Does that mean what I see in the image was never an actual website, but just something you made from scratch from a white page in Photoshop, and then turned into a website? That's crazy.
That image is not an actual site, it is something made from scratch in photoshop and it might hopefully turn into a website.
That is something I would really love to learn how to do. How do you know how big to make it when you are going to start? How do you take your image and make it so everything on it functions correctly? How could you possibly do this with a forum that already has a script and code behind it?
See the mock up I posted over there? A coder will take individuals pieces from the design and slice and dice, and code it using xHTML and CSS. With forum designs I do it in my head.
Miner did the old vBulletin setup design. I'm going to be doing his new 4.0 one. The one thing I am happy about with 4.0 is the new css based template system since I can't stand designing in tables. So now I can create all my own designs much, much easier.
Well there is a standard size that is used to create mock-ups. 1280x1302 basically. For forum scripts I do the same I do for wordpress. Either way, for forum scripts I can try to design it to my liking thanks to plug-ins. I do the mock-ups according to my forum's customability![I created a new word]
I usually starts out with 1200 from left to right. I then edit the canvas view the Image menu in Photoshop and enlarge to my heart's content.
Miner is that really good Philippines skinner, right? Or was he Arab, I totally forgot. Sheley asked me yesterday what I thought of his new skin, tbh, I barely saw a difference when I checked things out. Then again vB gives me the heebie jeebies.
I remember him back when I used to use vB. I was on his site only a year ago, believe he's still designing.
My friend is really good with graphics. I just go to him when I need anything done, he does it for free
Generally I do it myself, however if i dont have time i use one of these fellas: flockey.com fantasycreative.com thevbexpress.com bryanle.com 6creations.com many of those sites are 'coming soon' as now seems to be the time for many designers to be re-doing their website.
Hanafi from https://www.sultantheme.com/ is also very good, and one of the few vB designers who has some nice feminine templates.
