Do you think your members will be able to easily adjust to vb4?

To be honest I am rather hesitant about ever installing it at least at the moment as I can imagine so many of them hating it and leaving with the change.

    What do you guys think?

    Hmm,

None of my sites will be moving to version 4. I was holding off on starting a new site until 4 came out, but after having hands on experiance, I'm hesitant. If I do decide to use something in the 4.x series, it won't be 4.0. I'm considering other options, but having a hard time finding article management and quality forums in one package.

its really not THAT different. i mean, a vbulletin is a vbulletin. the post, reply, quote, newthread, ect. buttons are all in the same place.

the thing u have to have ready is the mods and hacks that they are used to and like having on ur site...thats the keeper right there..

I won't be upgrading so I have nothing to concern myself about.

I'm not going to upgrade until March when I have some time, but when I do the subscribers will take a look and play around with it first. Then they'll be able to help everyone else when I make the switch.

I won't be upgrading for some time, if ever.

If I do perform any kind of upgrade, it'll be to a custom version of my software, once the regular version is stable enough.

I'm waiting for 4.1 or 4.2 because i don't want to update all my addons after every vB4 update, because on every release they'll change something on the architecture as i understood.

ATM i don't see any sense to update, specialy because it's very buggy :)

My members won't need to adjust to vBulletin 4 for some time, but believe it or not, they actually want vBulletin 4.

My clients also wanted to switch to vB4 RC but i didn't allowed them...

I'm not realy having own forums(only 1 is mine), but i'm managing/hosting some for clients, and they wanted to switch, but i didn't allowed them. They should check a new hoster/tech-admin if they realy wanted to update...

I know, that was not realy nice from me, but as i showed them some of the "unhappy customer threads" on vb.com, they understood me.
OK, now i lost 1 customer, but i can live without him...

ATM it's absoultly not a goldversion in my opinon, so i had no other chance, then to "forbid" it

I don't think members will have many problems getting the hang of vbulletin4.0
and if they do, you can always make a video tutorial, like chatandplay has started doing, heck.. you can just use his video's if you wanted :)

My members? No. vB 4 is too different with phrase changes (UserCP to Settings, for example), interface changes, feature changes, etc. It's not worth the hassle to upgrade to a product I don't even like made by a company I don't like, just to confuse my members. We're all happy with our current system and infrastructure. :)

If you're completely new to vB (as I am), you're most likely to find it way more usable. At least, that's my point of view.

I have no plans to use vB4 at all. I've been converting away from vBulletin due to some of the reasons a lot of vB users have.

I've had a play around with it, and I really don't like it, and won't be upgrading. It looks too cheesy IMO.
I've found it difficuilt to adjust to, and I have spoken to a few members of a few forums who have upgraded and they have also agreed that its been a bit hard to adjust to it, not to mention the fact that it looks too bland and not too personalised.
They have told me they prefer my forum as apposed to the upgraded forums because my forum looks more personal and proffessional :D
But honestly, each to their own and no doubt when more and more VB4 skins come out it will start to look a lot more personalised and proffesional.

    Well, I've flopped (again).

One of my forums will be upgrading within the next month. I just have to convert Dream's Chatbox (since he has since dropped it) and find a decent dark skin to go with it.

The other vBulletin is up to a maybe. We'll see if the next month or two prove that it's worth the cash (this one has vBlog).

I was going to upgrade to vB 4 Suite from MyBB but after reading around and seeing how many people are complaining about it I decided on IPB. Which, I am officially in love with and will be getting a second license along with the blog feature here soon.
