Well there sure is no future for it tinybb now, as obviously jake has lost complete interest in it as its obvious thats why he is selling it, and whoever buys will have to look for new developers, so this "project" is pretty much done now.
I guess RIP TinyBB, however I do know of a software that was sold and lost all developers and has managed to continue as normal. I guess it all depends on who buys it and what their plans for it would be, etc.
Yea who knows, it might even come out better than it is under a new ownership but time will tell. As of now the project is pretty much dead.
then why he hasn't he implemented them? that is unless he is selling because he can't pay the developers/keep funding everything so has decided to sell...time to speculate me thinks
As Ashley mentioned I dont think he would sell it if he had great ideas and plans for it, if he did he would've started on them instead of looking to sell it.
Well...this makes an interesting read: http://tinybb.net/forum/index.php?page=thread&post=738466882 they decided to email everyone saying it was for sale, when actually it was a check to see how much it would actually be worth
Haha, because their excuse for the email is pretty stupid as it is obvious from reading the email they wanted to sell everything and not just the script, and now in that post they make it seem as if they were trying to see how much people would pay for it which is a stupid way to find out.
Yea, I wonder if that's a hint to say if it will go paid or not as they are working on a "lite" version as well...
You got this via a forum named CHF, that's the initials... Not email as we don't have emails of people who actually use our script and we don't have any tool to send a mass email to TinyBB members. It was never a cover up story... Posting in regards to this... Thanks, Tyler Brenlich.
This is news for me. I've never heard about this. I'm not a fan of TinyBB at all nor do I like the software.
