The Worst forum software

I thought ipbfree was the worst. It wasn't anything like IPB. Now it's gone, so my new least favorite has to be proboards. I don't necessarily hate it though, it has a lot of pros.

I was never a fan of Proboards either. It look like it sucked to me.

 

Glad I'm not the only one who despises ProBoards. I still use it because one forum I'm active on uses it, but I so wish they could upgrade (preferably to XF)...

 

SMF is very difficult to browse

 

I've got to say phpBB2 or at least that's my least favourite software that I've tried,

 

I used SMF for about two months or less before I switched back to vBulletin. I liked it but it didn't have enough features for me to continue on using it.

 

It's just different when comparing it with MyBB or phpBB3.
I've gotten use to some SMF styles already although I'm not a fan of their software but I surely don't dislike it,

 

I am not a big fan of MyBB myself. However, PhpBB2 is the all time worse for me... that was the first forum software I used (besides free hosted ones) and if that software had been a real live person, we would have had a few fist fighting rounds >_<

 

To be honest I would just say PHPBB because it is such a horrible forum, the style of it is just totally horrable and the fact that even all the addon templates look terrible. Also phpbb are trying to be to much like a paid forum software and they are just trying to hard and it shows because it looks terrible. There are also a tonne of security flaws with loop holes for hackers to get through to.

 

PHPBB Definitely.
I always had troubles when using that forum , always hated it.

 

Proboards has to be the absolute lowest of the low, one of my efed colleagues uses it for his fed and I refuse to join.
InvisionFree was okay when I didn't know about MyBB and SMF but now I can't really stand it

 

Free host: Proboards
Free software: SMF

IPBFree, used an older version of IPB, one that was around probably when you were still a baby, which is why you think it's "nothing like IPB", it IS IPB, it just uses/used the last FREE version of IPB released, and that version dates back to 2003.

 

SMF is actually quite good. It just lacks some major features like vBulletin has. I've never tried Proboards.

 

I don't like SMF. I've used it before both as admin and user, and it's not just the lacking features I dislike about it. The overall feel and way it runs is what turns me off about it. It looks like a forum that was coded back in 1995.

 

You don't ever want to try proboards either.
The admin panel is way too complicated and cluttered; you can't find anything
Its like a really bloated version of SMF, but SMF is far better than Proboards
The look and feel of Proboards is like a 2 year old coded it.

Plue it is almost impossible to skin the thing
You try everything in your power to give it a new look and alas, you take a look and it look just like the original layout.

 

I think the worst software I've ever used are the following:

• phpBB
• vB
• SMF

I must admit though, I do like some of the themes available for phpBB.
