we used to have a suggestion box forum that no one used, i figure a thread ought to cover it now though my suggestion: the links in the navbar ("select >>" bar) are kinda hard to click, but the buttons are nice and big - it'd be cool if the buttons, not just the text, were clickable
oh, and i want the "mark all forums read" button back, unless you don't want to for design reasons - i used it about once every couple of days so i could certainly live without it
Hey, thanks for the suggestions.. The buttons thing might be difficult at this point, in the way that we created them as a background element. We'll think about it. As for the 'mark all forums read', and viewing 'new posts' they are both the top selections in the secondary forum nav bar under the "QuickLinks" heading and can be used from any page.
For those who have spoken to me about it, I'll also be adding a link for 'active topics' as well so you can view anything active in the past 24 hours like the old system had.
right you are! splendid if each button is a table cell you can add <td onclick=blahblah> to make the whole cell clickable
#1 http://forums.aliensoup.com/search.php?searchid=2022 the blue fading bar at the top of the search table starts to loop because the row is too tall, so it goes from light to dark all of a sudden... fairly easy to fix by making that background image taller with a light blue stripe at the bottom #2 at the top of every thread page (like this one) there's the aforementioned fading blue bar, and then the buttons (thread tools, search this thread, display mode) are on the purple squiggle background - is that on purpose? it's just a bit of an abrupt transition
Thanks, MJ. As for the 'abrupt bar', it actually functions that way 'out-of-the-box' in the software, but I agree that we'll be changing that to be consistent across the whole bar.
Yes, the journals will be returning. We also haven't lost all our old journal entries either. Once the new version is released for this new vB version, we'll install it and import all the existing data.. When the author will release it is anyone's guess but he's done significant work on it so stay tuned..
