wth were his parents??? See, as a parent I can say this........ Something like this is where I hold the parents responsible.
And we did indeed get his parents involved into the situation - and there was absolutely no hesitation on there part: this kid caused some serious trouble and they weren't about to let him get away with it.
Good that they took responsibility for him - after the fact. However, I have to question where they were when he was doing this. Obviously not keeping an eye on him.
Especially seeing as he was (and is) still so young - come on, 11 years old and you're harassing people via a public environment?
I'm glad that action was taken - by both the parents and the ISP. This certainly sounds like it was a hassle; and the fact that he's eleven years old makes it even worse. What's next? :p
ha my son's had his own computer since he was 3 yrs old. But we always did, and still do, keep a very close eye on where he goes and what he does.
I think it's key to keep an eye out on what a younger child is doing, particularly when they are on the web. Having access to a nearly endless virtual resource can be dangerous...
LOL, I'll explain. That sucks, but it isn't very hard to track people down even with the most minute of details available. The internet has only made the task easier. I mean if he really likes doing that, then he can put it to good use like tracking bad people down or would be hackers themselves.
Your initial comment confuses me. You say this child was harassing fellow staff members. Do you mean HIS fellow staff members?!?
I think he somehow acquired the contact details of the staff members (because it was kept in a thread inside the Staff Forum) and abused it.
Correct. This was a member who (somehow) acquired the personal contact information of a few of my staff members. He then chose to harass them.
Yes, however he continually harassed this member even after (kindly) being asked to stop multiple times. It was a situation that got out of control quickly.
You'd think an eleven year old would have something better to do. Like maybe the same thing but in real life... not on the internet.
