I just purchased a monthly calling subscription (along with a number) with Skype. Question: why did I not do this months ago? Why I've never used Skype to this extent is beyond me. I'm constantly communicating with people via the web - why not create an additional method of communication by way of VoIP? I'd prefer to not simply "hand out" my cell or home numbers, and using Skype in such a manner is going to be wonderful. I've also really never used Skype, period, hence the excitement over an already-existing service/application. Any other Skype lovers?
See, you have a date already I have installed it before but I have only used it once and that was for about four or five seconds testing it was working. I could use it possibly instead of the house phone but online I tend to chat over msn. A phone call is a little more personal and I would be a bit shy talking to others over it.
My contact information should be included in my profile here. While I love talking via instant messaging, I'm a chatterbox on the phone - I like being 'heard' (could be an egotistical trait... ), and as such, this will more than likely work out perfectly. We'll have to see!
8D I use it too. I love talking to people, specially to meet them and shizz, it's pretty damn cool to hear the different accents.
I can see the whole cool aspect of it. Hearing people from around the world would be good fun, especially trying to understand some people
I've had Skype for ages - I used it to talk with family who is based in Germany, Brazil and Canada. However, I didn't use the actual calling feature, just the standard mic and webcam. I usually see Skype being used for a lot of internet businesses, such as hosting and paid posting. Some even use it for "Forum Hotlines." I added Chris and Ryan - though I have both of them on MSN.
I'll admit - I'm quite addicted to Skype. Over the past day, I've been communicating with a few fantastic people - three of which are from this community. It's one thing to converse with them via a threaded interface, but communicating with them on an entirely different level is absolutely fantastic. Why it took me years to actually use this service is unknown, but I'm glad that I chose to do so. I've been conferencing with Dave (OneUpDave), FullMetalBabe, and Ryan for hours - it's been a pleasure. I can't stop yawning. Boring discussion is right...
