    Hi there,

I got a note from my host. It says this:

    user9 domain.com 20.35 6.70 0.8
    Top Process %CPU 80.0 /usr/bin/php /home/user9/public_html/index.php
    Top Process %CPU 76.0 /usr/bin/php /home/user9/public_html/index.php
    Top Process %CPU 63.0 /usr/bin/php /home/user9/public_html/index.php

I am trying to figure this out, what all of this means.

Do any of you know about this kind of stuff?

    :o

We are on a shared server and will be moving to VPS soon because I cannot moved to dedicated because I am not smart enough to run a server myself and our host will still manage for us on a VPS.

To me it looks like your forums index is eating a lot of resources. Why not ask them? Surely they should have told you why they sent it to you.

Your average server loads are quite high. They're more than likely "hinting" that it's time to move to a more capable solution (i.e. a VPS). :)

Yeah, your forum is using a lot of CPU power, so they want you to move to a more capable solution. Definitely get to that VPS as soon as you can.

Just out of sheer curiosity, did they happen to send you a message (regarding the situation) in addition to the server data, or did they simply send you the above data and leave you to figure it out?

I'm assuming that they left you in the dark, but I had to ask. :)

On the occasions when my server usage has been too high, my host was able to tell me which script was causing the problem.

On this one, this was on my side of the site that is a Wordpress blog and they could not identify the script. I removed an embedded flash widget that seems to have helped. I think.

When we exceeded the load on the forum side of the site, they were able to say that it was the ajax.php script.

    The email also said this:
We are going to move to VPS soon. I am scared though
