Although it may sound good a few things I think need to be addressed first: 1.) Who will be running/overseeing these competitions? 2.) As Rankin pointed out, what will the winner receive? 3.) Is there even a points system available for Xenforo, and what would the purpose for it be? We don't offer any promotion services, and we don't get many (if any at all) requests for graphics to be made, so why should users be charged x points to get a graphic made, and then there's also the risk of people spamming to get the points just to be able to get a graphic made, when there's already loads of places out there where you can get graphics done.
I agree with the tips part of the suggestion. Also if we can have someone to overlook the competitions (as Ashley said) and a prize for the winner, I would also back this point too. However, I agree with Ashley on the points for graphics part. People will post pointless messages just so they can request graphics. Off-topic: People should not need to give points to receive graphics, designers should enjoy making people graphics, it would give them some sort of challenge.
