So I was just browsing my Google Webmaster Tools console and for my Linnie Forum, I checked out the list of the top keywords found on my site when crawled by Google.

    Here they are:
    Code:
    lineolated
    linnie
    parakeet
    posts
    public
    profile
    avatar
    bird
    birds
    parakeets
    post
    cage
    linnies
    skthurley
    blog
    gail
    nick
    new
    pet
    thread
    user
    it's
    linelated
    photo
    feathers
    love
    breeding
    avian
    toys
    food
    green
    contests
    carrie
    budgies
    jenny
    linnielover
    debbielabella
    shandi
    behavior
    advertisements
    chilli
    password
    heather
    tammyyc
    baby
    visit
    put
    anne
    pictures

A lot of these are undesirable: post, avatar, thread, Nick, public, profile, etc.. How can I reduce the use of these keywords on my forum?

Do you guys have undesirable words in your list of common keywords? Is this something I should be worried about?

Those words sound like they would mostly show up in a Suggestions/Feedback type of forum, if that's the case maybe you should hide that forum from Google? Or isn't there a setting in vbSEO that tells Google what parts of the page to pay attention to and what parts to ignore?

My Suggestions/Feedback forum is hidden from guests. :o

I was thinking, maybe those are some of the alt text words. For example, in vBulletin the alt text for avatars is Username's Avatar. But that's the only one I can justify it picking up...

It happens to everyone. There really is nothing you can do about it.

Nick, do you have AdSense section targeting turned on in vbseo?

On th forum that I'm having this issue on, I don't have vBSEO. And yes, I am using AdSense section targeting; and as far as I'm aware, the section targeting only affects AdSense ads - not crawled content or relevant SERPs.

Just tested the new vBSEO (3.3.0) feature for Virtual HTML. I put <!--VBSEO_VIRTUAL_HTML--> above:

    HTML:
    <if condition="$post['usertitle']">
    And <!--/VBSEO_VIRTUAL_HTML--> below:

    HTML:
    				<div>$post[icqicon] $post[aimicon] $post[msnicon] $post[yahooicon] $post[skypeicon]</div>
    </div>
It changes all of that text to javascript, which makes it unseen by bots. Might be something to look into.

Thanks, Michael! The forum that I'm having this problem on doesn't use vBSEO, but I will definitely look into this for use here on AA. ;)
