I don't think what we say on AA or on our own site would give them the right to ban anyone ;)

Well, technically speaking, they have the right to do whatever they want. I wouldn't be surprised if they banned somebody from vB.com for something they say elsewhere, such as on AA.

true, their choice but it would be in poor taste to ban someone over something that's been said in this thread so far.

Ok before the mud starts slinging, remember that there are powers-that-be who tell him what to do. While I do agree that he's not run things in a stellar fashion for sure, he's not entirely to "blame".

    Well it really is unfortunate,

During his tenure a lot of quality people lost their jobs and the product has suffered with him at the helm. I certainly do with him better luck with future projects, but I'm looking forward to moving on without him.

I just hope the company takes this opportunity to re-look at the way they are managing things. Peggy is correct in that he didn't just do whatever he wanted, he had approval for the direction he was going. I think many of us will agree that things have not been going smoothly for vbulletin in the last nine months or so. So, my hope is that they re-think a bit of their policy/strategy now and hopefully point the company back in the right direction.

I guess he won't be going to the vbulletin solutions christmas bash 2009?

I'd assume he's thinking haven't you heard of Ty Pennington.

This is the best news out of vBulletin in months. Whatever his degree of personal responsibility (and it has to have been significant), Ray Morgan was the mouthpiece of all the lies that have been told since this past spring. I truly hope that this signals an intention on the part of vBulletin to start to be truthful with its customers and deliver value for their fees.

I don't know why, but I foresee the anti vB sites are going to have a field day with this news. It'd be like Christmas come early...

But all aside, wish him the best luck in the future.

[I dare anyone at vBulletin.com to ban me for this post. Down with Internet Brands!]

Although I don't have anything to say either positively or negatively about Ray I do think it's safe to say he was/is not the one pulling the strings. vBulletin is being developed to be marketed to commercial enterprises and not hobby owners. Mark my words, it will be priced out of the reach of most come 5.0...whether it's worth it or not.
