Ok, so I just figured out what the administrator ones remind me of. Shamu of course.

 

Mentors: I think all mentors' badges should be the same color - regardless of the forum script - and their username should be the same, matching color. It's more uniform and easier to recognize the various positions here.

This universal color for mentors should either be green (like the vB badge Shelley first shared here) or red (the first of your three red variations, here).

That's just my opinion. Any takers?

 

What about it being red with a golden stripe on the most left side? I'm thinking armed forces here, cool idea.

And I like dark red or green for the username mentor color. I'll have to try them both and see how they look.

 

Okay, I tried a couple of variations out and have concluded dark red (maroon) as my own preference.

 

Sounds good to me. Now we just need the red badge for:

• vBulletin Mentor
• MyBB Mentor
• IP.Board Mentor
• SMF Mentor
• phpBB Mentor
• ...

If we get the PSD, we can easily add new badges as they are needed.

I really think it would be nice to have the rank images the color of the forum software's default board color.

 

I agree and maybe a little logo of the forum as well ? Or it might make it overcrowded... Don't know to try

I could be late the party, but is there any chance us graphic artists could get our own tags? I think it would really help us get recognition and work.

 

Possibly, I guess. Would just any graphic designer that comes by get the title? Or...?

Perhaps designers who fulfill x graphics requests, or submit x free downloads (in the Free Graphics section) can attain the rank badge?

 

Yup, that's the ticket. They obviously gotta fill a quota or something. Which would all be up to you/others
