Have you ever considered paying your moderators? What are your specific reasons for paying or not paying moderators?
I don't pay a moderator though I pay the other administrator over at Bird is the Word. I am paying him because he does the back-end, technical work. He also did the custom work. So I am paying him 10 dollars a month and the normal bonuses. I could do the technical/back-end work, though I prefer to be the "Content And Community Manager."
Maybe I should do that for Christmas/Birthdays. Like little iTunes gift cards or something. Or, maybe a gift card/code from this site. This way, no privacy issues would come into play. You'd simply put the e-mail in and voila.
And I don't do the back end technical work? Lol.... anywho~ On Pisoga the mods are always community enthusiasts, no need to pay them and such.
 - we're both founders and administrators. When revenue is generated, we split it. And, when do we not generate revenue? :speechless:
Well again my site is small but I honestly don't see the need since most people are willing to do it for free. Now larger boards may need to pay mods since it may could involve more work or even be a requirement for tax reasons.
This is what I've found to be true. I just wish they would stop kidding around about there being no executive washroom or corporate jet.
I'm with Tyler here. My staff want to be on the team. Not because of the benefits, but the fact they love doing what they do.
