You may have read of my aforementioned "plans" we had in the works for AdminAddict, and I'd like to address the current state of the matter. I know it's not typical for a community administrator to announce that there is no "what's next" but I don't want anybody to be kept anxiously waiting (though I doubt anybody is anyways). We did have some plans in the pipeline and we did dedicate some time to preparing to roll them out and planning the next phase of AdminAddict's life. Our efforts slowly dissipated, mainly because life got in the way. Then our waning efforts ultimately turned into complete abandonment of those plans... we now have nothing lined up for AdminAddict. The main issue is time. I don't have the time that I used to have to nurture and grow AdminAddict and despite how much I want AA to relive its days of glory, I simply cannot manage to achieve that. I don't see it in the near-future, at least not by my own doing. I would like to dispel the possible assumption that AdminAddict is now "closed;" such is not the case. Rather, I'm just making it clear that AA's future is unknown, and does not have to be grim. I know many of you care about the community and still find time to visit it despite its ghastly state. Your dedication to this establishment is genuinely appreciated and respected. This is a time where the community has the opportunity to step forward and possibly take action to turn this place around, headed for a path of its past successes. This is an open-table discussion; again, AA is not "closed," I'm not selling it, it's not over. This is not the end, but instead the beginning of a new phase. We're just at a point where there's nothing I can do, and would like to allow the community to offer input, feedback, ideas, and for those who want to step up, take action. Thank you for your understanding.
Nick, there are still a few of us that are diehard fans and remember the 'good ol days' (they weren't that long ago ). I hope that AdminAddicts can get some participation and can relive a little of the past success. Until then, I'll be keeping an eye out as I visit from time to time.
There are still a few of us that come around. As you say like does occasionally get in the way. One has to adapt to it. Through thick and thin.
I don't blame you in the slightest, Nick. I took on a couple staff members last year myself because my health was really crapping out among other things. So really, I'm not blaming you at all because they do say real life comes first!
I try to stop by, mostly from my phone to welcome new members, but I understand how life can get in the way. I'd love to make an offer on the place to help keep the content and history a live. Maybe something we can talk in private Nick? Good luck with whatever you decide.
