Howdy! I'm CrazyTech (Denver in real life), and I've actually been in contact with some of you on Twitter. I came across AA after the vBulletin fiasco (for lack of a better word) as I began to search for an alternative choice. I've joined other forums like this in the past, but this one seems to have a really good community spirit. I've admined/moderated on numerous forums through the years going back to when I started on gaming clan forums a decade ago now. I currently serve as a Moderator at two large industry forums and I run my own Christian forum. I also handle the forum for the company I work for, as well as other various tasks. I'd consider myself an intermediate administrator, experience-wise. For a little personal background, I have a BA in English with a minor in Business Administration. I've worked in the web hosting industry for a couple years. My hobbies include computers, web development, sports, artifact hunting, and reading about multiple topics (religion, philosophy, science, politics, etc.) I guess you could say I'm somewhat of a Renaissance man, minus the ego; jack-of-all, master-of-none type. Anyway, I cannot get away from forums. I love them and I love information science in general. I think forums have a unique role and can be quite effective. I look forward to moving from being an intense lurker the past few days to an active poster. I'm ready to get behind a forum software choice and help others out. This seems as good a place as any to roost. Peace.
Yep, AA got it's first gigantic burst of traffic from that vBulletin thing, and now it's grown into a pretty well-developed community. And welcome to AA!
