Some hacker got into my forum system and screwed around, I had to do a full reinstall.. :handcuffs: << Thats what they'll be in.
Do you know how they got in? And what exactly did they do? That could explain how. Not to mention how can you say they will be in handcuffs? Did you check server logs and see if they have ip and all? But here are some things you should always do: 1)Change the name of the admin folder 2)Password protect your admin folder 3)Turn off html and make sure you have code to stop images that arent images 4)Keep your vbulletin updated 5)Generated passwords are good idea too
Chat Ripple was.. Along with CalebSpilchen.com wp installation being hacked, they uploaded into my index files some milw0rm script at least thats what it seems to be.. I just reinstalled everything. Calebspilchen.com will be down now until I get the chance.
My bet is another account on your server was hacked and from they gained access to everythign on the server.
If you found a milw0rm script that means your code was exploited. You need to make sure everything is uptodate and secure, if not they will just do it again.
Not sure. CalebSpilchen.com is on a separate account residing on the same IP however none others on said IP were hacked, other then ChatRipple and CalebSpilchen, theres no blog on my vbs though.
Ask your host to look into it as they might give you some information on how the person got into your admin cp. GoodLuck!
I'll be calling them tonight, and possibly switching hosts, I've got a lot of sites on that server, and I don't feel right with anything on it any more.
Well one thing people i know would say is contact the host straight away. They have more access over your hosting than you do. And eight times out of ten they get to the matter of whats happened.
I run my server, I'll run some things later.... I'll see if I can find anything in the old access logs.
Techleech hacked, CalebSpilchen Hacked, ChatRipple Hacked. That's all I've found so far.. Going through my abandon'd sites.
Any funny codes, links, names, ips and what not google them. I would be sure that there would be some of proof some where about it.
Got a virus from some website, -- which then wormed into my Computer, and hacked into my Filezilla, wrecking my Netbook (Which I lost all files on), and then gaining access and adding weird scripts to my site. the source of all the viruses are "copbun.ru", i've threatened a law-suit against there server host.
