Metal. Music of the gods (at last, that's what manowar sez :V). What stuff do you guys listen to? I am really in to Stratovarius, Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Bullet for My Valentine and Nightwish, among others. I have the full COB discography including two or three live bootlegs and the Inearthed (pre-studio) demos. Love all of it. They do really good covers too. Favorite CD: Blooddrunk. Favorite song: Living Dead Beat. Pwnage pure. I have a pretty complete Stratovarius collection. Recently acquired, haven't heard all of it. Really love Elements part 1 (the song Elements is really the best of epic metal). I only have the Scream, Aim, Fire CD of BFMV, but that kicks so much ass. The best songs are the bonus tracks-Ashes of the Innocent, One Good Reason Why, and Watching us Die Tonight. Other great songs are the title track, Eye of the Storm, Waking the Demon, and Hearts burst into Fire. Megadeth is pretty sweet. I have Peace Sells, Rust in Peace, and Countdown to extinction. Love most of their stuff. Who else here is a metalhead, what do you listen to?
;~; I was about to say, a thread about me!? ;( Too deceiving! Umm, regarless of my name. I do not listen to metal Music !
Let's hear it for aluminum! Silvery white and ductile, lightweight and remarkably resistant to corrosion! Yayy!
My music isn't necessarily as harsh. Its mostly angry. Right now I primarily listen to Metallica, Godsmack, AC/DC, Linkin Park, Korn, Mudvayne, Drowning Pool, and similar groups. Just for you though, I just created a Megadeath station on Pandora. Should include all the groups you listed and similar artists.
:idiot: This is the metal appreciation thread. :V Facetiousness aside, Linkin park is pretty good stuff. I just can't stand their latest album. It took everything about their blend that made them good in my eyes and turned it into douchy pop music. Too many lame romantic songs with just the one dude singing and not enough techno influence. Hybrid Theory and Meteora were great though.
Hybrid Theory, in particular, is superb, and it remains one of my favorites. Minutes to Midnight is "different" - I do agree that they took a bit of a wild turn, but it's still good nonetheless. I'm really digging their latest single, "New Divide".
I forgot this in my original list. Rammstein is possibly the most bitching metal/industrial band ever. Their music, while simple, is incredibly compelling and really generates feelings in the listener. Reise, Reise is probably my favorite single CD ever. Just wish they would do more guitar solos... >.< But what I really love about them is their lyrics. Here's the translated lyrics to the song "Bueck Dich" Despite their reputation as industrial shock-rockers, they really have some very moving pieces such as "Spring", "Morgenstern", and "Spieluhr". Beautiful. Alltogether, a really nice band.
A few of my favourite bands are A Perfect Circle, Tool, Soad, Disturbed, RHCP, Incubus and a few others I can't remember right now but I listen to a lot of metal. Metallica are another fav though their recent albums don't touch their earlier albums.
Metallica's golden era died with Cliff Burton. However, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are perhaps the greatest thrash metal albums ever.
