This is really getting on my nerves because I have been trying for 30 minutes to find the answer and for some reason, I can't! Is IPB like vB that you have to buy one license for each domain you want to use it on?? Like in the vB license agreements says that even if you're installing on the same server and domain like yoursite.com/forum1 and another on yoursite.com/forum2 you will have to buy a license for each domain. It wasn't hard for me to find it on vB, I just googled vB license agreement and BAM! There it was, but the first thing that came up for me when I googled IPB license agreement was Free ipb license Free Download and a blog post from 06! Edit: I even tried googling Invision Power Board License agreement and that blog post from 06 was the first thing that came up.
I know that you do have to have a license for each instance (even if on the same domain - just like vBulletin), but like you, I cannot find their official license agreement.
Thank you! I don't like that I can't find a license agreement with just googling, for MyBB, SMF, phpBB, UBB and vB I found it quickly, the first item on google was their individual licenses. On IPB I went to the FAQ IPS, Inc. - Frequently Asked Questions The documentation redirected to Welcome to IPS Resources ??? Resources Official Resources from IPS and nothing!!!
When you go to purchase, it highlights a few things, one of them is However, I see what your talking about. There is no TOS/AUP/License agreement publically available for their product. Here it is if you wanted it though. The only place I could find it was right before downloading the product [
I think the public copy of the license was lost in the site upgrade. I'll make sure it's re-added somewhere tomorrow.
As far as I am concerned Yes, it requires lincense like vBulletin that for each domain you want to use it on.
