I found you all from the article that was in the Register. The link was posted over at vBulletin Setup. Sorry, I'm cross posting my introduction. My name is Patty and I live in Sitka, Alaska. I don't know a whole lot like a lot of you do, but I do try hard to learn. I have a Coast Guard support website and run a 3.8.4 forum. Sorry, it's a closed forum. I'm hoping that once all is said and done, the new 4.0 will be really good. I just wish vBulletin had handled this differently. I felt really pushed into purchasing something that I had already bought. I have an IPB license too. Although it's a great product with excellent customer service, I would really prefer to stay with vBulletin. I think there is so much more out there with mods/skins. Hopefully they'll get it together and it will be a great product......we'll see! Nice to meet you all!
Welcome aboard. Sitka's becoming popular. Your the second person I've met in the last week from there or I'm just noticing now.
Welcome. You have an admirable site that truly serves a purpose. You must have mentioned it somewhere else on the internet and I took a peek. I know the Coast Guard well, and they have helped me in the past.
LOL Sitka is pretty small with a population of just under 9,000. Chances are good that I might know that person! LOL Thanks for the kind words. I can't say enough about the members, it's a pretty special group. Thanks everyone for the welcome.:rose:
Welcome Patty! I saw that story as well, but I was already a member here so I thought - hey cool, there's adminaddict, I know that site!
WOW! I didn't realize it's been that long since I made my first post here. My husband has since retired from the CG and we've settled in Pensacola, FL. It's been really nice to buy a house and know we're not going to move any time soon. The forum is still going strong. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary. I've just started a conversion from vb 3.8 to IPB 3.3.3......where I'm really looking to stay. I did try Xenforo, but I just wasn't that happy with it. I was surprised to read about the implosions and glad I wasn't around to see all that. My skills aren't up to optimizing vb4, and IPB has always had the best customer service. Nice to see AA still humming along!
