Hi everyone, I joined Admin Talk a few days ago but didn't have a chance to post until now. Just wanted to say hello and hope I can learn a lot from all of the other members on here.
Welcome to the forums. What are you looking to learn about? Just post threads, ask questions, and we'll try our best to help you.
Welcome to the forums! Do you work in a hospital? I <3 anesthesiology too -- without it, we'd all still need the wooden hammer treatment during surgery!
I love that shit. Its the one thing I look forward to when getting put to sleep for a surgery. But when I got my gall bladder removed, I was sick all day after and just had to rest and not eat.
When I broke my knee, I had surgery 4 times, the 4th time without anesthesia, b/c I had it already 3 times.
Damn, when I was doing ECT treatments for my manic episode[bipolar], they gave it to me every other day. I had to do a few sessions. I think I did about 20 of them my whole life.
Ya, it did help. But I wouldn't do it again because it gave me some memory problems. I'm all better now, but sometimes my memory isn't all that great.
Your memory, if you train/practice it, will probably grow back after some years. I had the reverse problem: I had to give up part of my memory, but for me, it went automatically. Because I used to remember everything ... I'm glad that's not the case anymore. No idea if the pills I took in '06 had anything to do with it.
Thanks for the heads up, it has been improving since I did those - about 2 to 3 years ago. I'd recommend it to those who are so manic and the medications aren't working fast enough. That's what its used to for, to help speed up your recovery. It's done in the mental hospitals though. You can do them as out-patient, but they usually start them doing them while you're in the hospital just to be safe. @Dan Hutter
