I currently admin a forum all about Halo aswell. http://halocommunity.com/forums/forum.php (Excuse the awful vBulletin 4 style. That was before my time as admin and I am focusing on re-coding features for Xenforo.) We run tournaments (online) Nothing MLG or AGL but we get good turn outs. Threads 2,768 Posts 47,802 Members 2,728 We're currently making the move to Xenforo which is why I haven't posted a showcase thread of my own. I like the theme and how true to the theme of the game is it. Very nice! Nice to see some other Halo forums around.
Thanks. Visually it's pretty bad but with the switch to Xenforo soon it will be a lot better on the eyes. just a few pesky addons I gotta re-code and a tournament system to find. as coding ones is beyond my capability and the price of $3000+ is just too high.
We're, sadly, going to be using http://eliteladders.com/ even though it's one of the worst pices of code I have EVER seen. it's all we can find that does the job we want that wont cost us $3000+. We currently use http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=238945 and this one aspect of our site is the only reason we're not on Xenforo already. But gotta go with what you can get!
Don't worry about the ladders, just worry about the base functions for your xenforo forums. If your members ask you for that particular feature, then tell them the reason why you don't have it. If you don't wish to spend $3,000 on a waste of stupid code, then don't do it. It'll just become a waste of money in the end. Because stupid code is stupid. Take it from me, CODForums was on vB4, and ultimately broke on 4.1.4 update. We had many, many hacks. Every part of the site broke. I begun being reluctant to installing hacks from there on. Even with xenForo, and it's a great software. vB4 should've given you the impression that stupid code is stupid. Stupid code is wasted money.
We're not JUST a forum. we offer tournaments. that's what we do. vB4 hasn't given me that impression at all. what made you think that?

And you even say this in your introduction thread: Anyhoo. ...What I'm saying is that, if you feel that this particular EliteLadders has the worst code you've ever seen.... then I guess don't use it. And don't waste your money on it. Bad code with money usually end up hurting the person trying to fix something. Take a look around Admin Talk, and other Admin Forums then come back here. vB4 has the worst code I've ever seen myself. Kier is the early developer of vB4, but the rest of the code isn't his fault, it's Internet Brands'. Why do you think you're moving from vB4? It's no mistake that you're leaving because of how ugly it is, it's because the code is shit. Not even vB5 is helping matters, either. In fact, on the day of IB's upgrade of vB4 to vB5... It took down the entire forum. I was there, many vB.com customers were there, many xenForo customers were there.... You'd know this by now. Don'tchoo?

Hey do any of ya'll play Spartan Ops? I need to find someone that will help me start from the beginning.
That was about the style. not the software. I mentioned the vBulletin style because the homepage is wordpress. I don't but members on the site play it all the time. I get lag issues because I'm in the UK and playing with people from around the world on the Spartan ops system isn't great. at all.
Well then, what are you worried about? The Wordpress design looks good, but I can't say the same about the forum itself, because well, it's vBulletin 4.
Finally got some of the main features made. Anyone know any coders who do things for Xenforo that do decent work and are looking for work? Everyone I find is swamped!
