Have any of you moved your data base to Google Cloud Platform or other similar service? If so what did you see as the pros & cons?
To me the main problem with cloud servers is that I don't understand at all what is the difference between them and a regular server. I know that having your file on the cloud makes them available from anywhere, but I have always had my files on a web server and they are always available from anywhere. So no, I don't use any cloud service, and much less when it comes to some of them charging for the service such as Amazon, which could service I don't understand either except for the part where you exceed your free allowance and they charge.
