When you get to a gaming center # and stick with it for more than 3 weeks, post back and I'll gladly offer a full review. Though, I'm sure I can copy and paste the reviews from the first two live sites without even going to check out numero tres
Of course he probably does, he linked to his site like, 3 different times in different review topics. Of course, he probably doesn't have MORE than one license... because he keeps deleting forums to replace them with new sites/forums every other day or so.
Re: Gaming Center #3 See the thing is that i try adding a mod, and get a database error, and disable stuff, still dont work. Thats why i had to restart. I use only one license, and i just parked my domain on my hosting provider, and set name servers blah blah blah. The i just the database create a new one, and have to restart.
Re: Gaming Center #3 I personally hate doing manual backups. I started doing them like every Saturday like today. But the Auto Database backup doesnt work at all. I will not mess up this time. I dont do test boards, i just install right away.
Re: Gaming Center #3 I use Paul M.'s Auto Database Backup mod on three forums, and it works just fine. You must not be configuring it properly. Perhaps that's the problem. You can't just do things your way all the time and expect the technology to adapt to you. You must adapt to it.
Re: Gaming Center #3 Im pretty sure i set the things right, i should try installing it again. I just do installs cause i dont want to waste time reading pages. I download then install, to see if the hack works or not. If it doesnt then i remove it. If it works i keep it. NOT ALL HACKS. Just the ones i would like for my board. (You know what i mean)
Re: Gaming Center #3 Still, once you start getting members on a regular basis and more posts everyday, you shouldn't be messing with the live board like that. Think about if places like AA decided to try out new things, and kept screwing things up all the time. Would that make you any more confident that the place is stable enough to post, without worrying that your info could be deleted or corrupted at any time?

Re: Gaming Center #3 What happens when you install a modification that totally corrupts your database and is not fixable? You just start all over? Imagine if we had that attitude here on AA... Your practices aren't helping your issue. You wonder why you keep having problems, but you don't make an attempt to avoid them. Installing modifications on a live board without backups is like blindly walking through the target area of a shooting range - something is bound to happen. And that something is a very bad something.
Re: Gaming Center #3 I know that, im like modded out, nothing catches my interest anymore. I just go through all my files i downloaded, and find the ones i had. But i get the point of installing on a live board.
Re: Gaming Center #3 First off, you've got way too many boards and categories. Lower it down, and increase it as your get more members. It would make your forum look active. Secondly, I can't figure what makes it so different from other gaming forums. Is there anything unique that makes it stand out from the rest of the competition? Thirdly, you need a banner and perhaps some better icons. I hope you know that advertising a forum that isn't completed yet is not the smartest thing to do. Besides that, I left the site as soon as a full page ad popped up. That's a huge no-no for a new gaming forum. Consider removing ads for now unless you don't want potential members. Good luck with that forum.
