Forms of Punishment

I usually deal with each issue specifically, meaning it's never really the same process. Unless it's just a ban. If that's the case, see ya!

 

1) They don't come out of the status.

2) They deal with it. If they try to create another account, they are banned.

threads and posts that break the rules: thread/post deleted and a pm telling them what they did wrong, then if they do it again they get 3 warnings, followed by a short ban, then if they continue to break the rules they get a permanent ban.

pm advertising: pm telling them that its not allowed, and if they do it again, they lose the ability to send pm's.

spamming: if someone's first post is just to advertise a product, theyre probably a spam bot that got through and their account is deleted.

previously banned members reregistering: the new account is permanently banned, their ip is banned and their original ban is extended.

 

My all time favorite is the dungeon...

Create a forum that say the staff can enter and post but the accused is placed into and this is the only forum he can see or use. Then you could set it on a promotion or manually control it up to you... But it keep the fighting and mouthy person out of the prime areas and allows him to cool off or b____h at the staff either way the rest of the forum not seeing this...
