Which type of themes do you prefer? Fixed or Fluid and why? I prefer fixed width themes because on fluid if you have a very big resolution or a very small resolution, the site's layout will be messed up.

There is actually a third option which has had a boom in the design industry called "elastic". You can have the main features fixed but the width being fluid, so you don't have clutter of any features which will mess up the overall look.

I chose fluid primarily because I don't have a sidebar on my forum to really make things messed up. It's usually the added features of a sidebar or large header images/buttons which create the mess though.

It looks perfectly. My resolution is 1280 X 800 so it's average and consistent with most people.

Okay thanks, yes I chose this width because its the most common, and fits most computers, its fine on my netbook also.

It depends on theme and kind of side you are using, IMHO, for forums and discussion boards it does not matter while on blogs, i use fixed width themes but with magazine style sites or news sites, it is recommended to use fluid width themes.

It looks quite good on my screen. I am having resolution of 1366x768 and it looks nice.

Thanks :) I always prefer fixed over fluid, just a personal preference.

Fixed but I like fluid on vBulletin 3.8 forums and MyBB

I prefer fluid, being that I have a widescreen laptop, it makes a lot of void space on the left & right when the themes are fixed at something small.

To tackle this, I usually set a percentage width, and then a set minimum width for those who may have smaller screens.
