Other tech sites will bore you with in-depth "technical details" and performance specs in their product analysis. At BBspot we pull back from the boring benchmarks to compare the superficialities, and we do it all on a single page. Now that Firefox is gaining ground on Internet Explorer it is time to compare the two face to face. Any thoughts about these? Thanks!
I use Firefox but do not use either Ad Block or No Script!. For Ad Block, I cannot in good conscience block someones livelihood and use their services. That would be unethical on my part. If the site has obtrusive (popups, popunders, etc...) and obnoxious (pagecurls, text advertising with no delay) advertising, I just won't visit them anymore. Don't use No Script either. I like to see pages in all their designed glory. No Script is just a pain because almost every site I visit relies on Javascript for something. When I want to have fun on the Internet, e.g. play games like Bejeweled or what have you, then I use Internet Explorer. I just like its interface a lot better than anything else. In fact, I have several addons and a theme installed in Firefox to make the interface look and behave like Internet Explorers. Firefox doesn't run Flash or Silverlight as well as Internet Explorer though.
Isn't there another thread about this? Anyway, I use FF, and IE8 (which keeps unlogging me on some sites).
Firefox simply because it has access to useful addons and can block out the more annoying ads. If I do enjoy a site, I'll put them into the adblock filter and allow their ads to be displayed.
Can I say chrome? Google Chrome - Download a new browser Ever since I started using that as my main browser, I have noticed how unsmooth and unattractive Firefox is. Yes Firefox is way better than IE by any standards, but it is slow and loads extremely bulky.
Just wait until Google decides to load other software on your computer because it will make your browsing experience "better". With Chrome installed, there is nothing you can do to stop them. I tried Chrome on Windows Vista when it first came out. Wasn't impressed because it couldn't do anything. Tab Control was neat but really not why I choose a browser. That was before I found out about their underhanded installation and update techniques. Now I won't let it on my network if one of my kids install it, its blocked at the router and cannot connect to the internet. Same as all other malware.
