If someone registers on your forum and don't post do you delete their account? And if a old member that posts hasn't been on in awhile do you delete their account?
No I find it silly to delete members due to 0 posts. Only members I delete are ones that request it,spam bots,or real bad members..
Yes, I do sometimes. I do it to keep my stats realistic, in and in proportion to the posts. I do this because is the ratio of members to posts is say 3:2 then it will look as though the admin made a bunch of fake accounts, or has a lot of bots registered. I send out emails throughout the course of the year, and 1 or 2 will come back and lurk, while the others do not. I wait for about a month, and check my forums; email addresses to see if anyone has had trouble logging in etc.. and if I don't see anything, then I take that as the green light to delete the accounts. I figure that if they wanted to be there then they would have posted, and if they didn't have the time, then they will come back when they do.
I don't delete my members. I have before and all it did was make some active members mad saying that it was making our activity look worse.
if a person finds out your using that kind of code you risk losing respect for your forum which leads to losing members.
Yeah, and if a member realizes that they've been tricked I'm pretty sure they'd be pretty ticked off.
and then leave your forum and post bad things if they ever seen a topic about it. Not a good thing to ever fake stuff with forums.
We have a plugin installed for inactive user at a certain period of time, after that time they get deleted.
I delete members that have not posted or logged on within one-two months, because having a lot of members, but not so many posts, as Black Angel said, makes it look like the admin created fake accounts.
I never deleted any user. I even don't delete a spammer's account. I left it as it is. people might think it's a fake account; I say let them think what they want. I don't know why I dislike deleting account that much. ^^"
