i already have a prize for the competition...someone who organises paranormal investigations has offered to give some free places to one of their events if i promote their website on my forum, which is pretty good now i just need ideas for a competition that i can offer the prizes for, any ideas?
I've had success with posting contest, also referral contest and finally article contest are good for niche targeted sites. If your site is admin related or your users might have blogs, you could do a promo contest to pick a random site ran by a user that has linked back to your forum.
posting contest is a good idea think that will be my main one, and i might think of a few other smaller competitions, as well i opened the chat room for the night, for the members to meet the person running the event, and ask questions and stuff, and it was a success, throughout the night we had 28 people come into the chat and it was very busy. this was the first time members got to know about what was going on, me and the staff had kept it a secret for about a week before. i think theres a lot of interest for the competition
I like to recruit other members to give away things too, as that means I can add more value to the competition.
