Okay, as all of you know, I own and run http://www.chattingtime.com I am at this point looking for ways to improve the sites overall outlook. Please do not suggest things like paid advertising, paid post, etc, as I can't do out of pocket expenses, and I don't have PayPal or a credit card, so I can't do anything major like that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We redid our layout just this past November, so I know that's not a big worry. Any ideas so that Ash and I can look into it, that'd be awesome and truly appreciated.
Okay, sorry for the bump, but I was thinking of starting a series of Super Posting Weekends sort of like Combiboland and Lifeless did. However, I can't send anything to strangers through the mail, as not everyone is who they say they are online, but I want to offer some good incentives that people can enjoy right on the forum. I want to do something like this rather than hold big huge contests, because as you know, we held a contest in November of last year, and the idea did not fly over very well. Looking back, I think I may have started too huge with something like a contest and would like to go for a smaller idea. Any suggestions?
What kind of contests exactly are you aiming at? For people to be interested you have to have a good giveaway.
I know for sure I'm gonna start small and probably work my way up. All I know is I don't have time for any major contests, I'd just like to do like a posting marathon or something, or I know Ashley.S. used to do something on Entertainment Avenue where he would set a goal as to how many posts he would like us to make by a certain date or day of the week, and then if we reached that goal by the so-called deadline, I can't remember if we got something for our efforts or not, this was like in 2009, so I'm not even sure if Ash remembers that well.
Well I see what you are saying but you are not mentioning any prize or anything, what would they get for making the posts or completing whatever you have set for the competition? In order to have a competition you have to have some sort of prize or its really not a competition.
Well, I suck at graphics, and too many people want paying for making graphics of any sort for you, so that's out of the question. We have discussed ways of keeping the points system flowing smoothly so we don't have the same incident that FP had, where they had to offer more things because people were holding on to their points too long so it got to be almost like a depression sort of thing, as no one was taking advantages of packages or reviews or something, so even something like dishing out a few points could help in the long run too, I suppose.
Have you considered having a premium membership contest as I am sure you have a vip/premium group on your forum?
