O.M.G. I have gotten 3 blue screen of deaths in a week. :nailbite: My computer cannot die, it just can't! Any pointers on what I should do?
What changed recently? New hardware, new drivers (maybe from a windows update?). WinXP pr later I am assuming? Do a system restore and go back to when it wasn't broken if you can afford to do it...
Blue Screen of Death A computer version of the xbox 360 red ring of death if you will --- Try going into setup and reset to facility default?
1 - If Windows boots (or are you getting the BSOD 100% of the time?), backup EVERYTHING you need/want/have/etc to an external drive. Be prepared to lose your hard drive and everything on it (not saying this will happen; just be prepared in case -- hope for the best, plan for the worst). 2 - What make/model is your PC? What version of Windows? Have you recently installed Windows updates? 3 - What is the stop error? (All the numbers, e.g. 0x1000080001111) Last November my computer randomly screwed up and it turned out to be something wrong with Windows XP SP 3 that didn't work with some component or aspect of my HP Pavilion desktop. The problem occurred as a result of an automatic Windows update. I had to use the recovery tool and restore the desktop to factory default (well actually, I didn't; I found out after I did that that I could have rolled back the SP 3 via the command prompt, which would have solved my problem). I lost everything, but got to start fresh. It was annoying that I had to start from the beginning, but it was good in that my 4-year old desktop was "like new" again. Anyways, depending on what your issues are, I may be able to help you. I've learned a lot about BSOD's since my incident in November.
