Biggest Boost in Traffic

What is one thing you've done (that you usually don't do) that has brought the biggest boost in traffic? Was it a short surge of activity, or a long-term increase in traffic?

 

I haven't check my google info yet but twitter has for sure has brought the most traffic. I can get up to 50+ viewers every time I link my site to twitter but this is a short term deal.

 

How to check that?

 

charisse, you can check your forum's activity in your site stats (check with your web host to find out how to access them) or you can add something like Google Analytics.

 

I ask because everybody has their own different success story. For example, for some people, Twitter is their savior; for others, it's social bookmarking; and for some, it's paid "bring traffic to your site" offers.
I was just curious to hear what some people have done to gain some decent traffic.

 

im still searching for that "success story" LOL..

no...my biggest thing is keeping the site running good...and having a good team spreading the word. The only thing I've done was submitted my site to a ton of search engines...
