Have you heard the news? IPB 3.4 will come with a "Best Answer" feature. Woohoo! View attachment 2236 What are your thoughts on this new upcoming feature? Personally, I am very pleased with it. If you read the comments in that blog, you will see where Matt says that later 4.0 will enhance the reputation system to include content rep along with the current personal likes rep.
As Matt mentioned we do plan on enhancing this feature in 4.0. We didn't want to try to go crazy in 3.4 so we tried to keep it simple. That way we can be sure it works well and gauge feedback on how to improve it. Also even in this basic form we think a lot of people will really use it.
I think it really depends on the type of community you have if this is a useful feature or not. I actually like it but I can't see how this would be a completely useful feature on general discussion forums vs like a support forum or other help related forums where a "best answer"might be found. Either way, I am excited for 3.4 and it's new features(as well as 4.0) and I look forward to giving this a try
I for one can't wait for it. I have a hack installed to add that on my tech site. This has been for as long as I've been running forums the most asked for feature.
Pretty cool, I really don't have a use for it currently, but a lot of forums do. Great to see it built in.
I can't wait to see what they come up with for the enhanced rep system. I really liked the like addon for XF and the rep comments in VB.
