Do you have any special username markup/usertitle for your banned users? Or special permissions?

I generally keep them 100% limited in every way, taking away all of their permissions. This is mainly because of spam bots. Before I started to get hit with the bots on my first forum, I'm pretty sure I allowed banned users to still read the threads and nothing more. I would also [strike]strike[/strike] their usernames.

    Zero permissions.

vB default is to change their title to 'Banned' and I've disabled that so they retain their previous title. No need to alarm the members that someone was banned on my forum.

On my forum, I have two banned usergroups. "Minor Ban" and "Banned".

"Minor Ban" members can login and access the regular forums, threads, etc. but just cannot post. Almost like a guest, but they still have an account. During this time, their signature is removed and they cannot edit their profile (so as to prevent them from junking it up in an outlash).

"Banned" users have no access at all. They are officially banned and cannot log in or anything. I do give them a nice little rank though. :P .

I have a usergroup where the "Banned" title does not show up, but use it rarely. Most people I ban need to be made an example of.

Members who are banned from my community(s) receive zero leeway - they are restricted in nearly every way possible. While I don't visually modify their markup, I will place them in the "Banned" group. I've found that this, alone, is embarrassing enough.

    .

And they can only view the anime forums. Other than that, they can't access any other part.

Do all of the user rank images contain that "smiley face", or only the banned image?

No, as you can see. Awesome face gives sarcasm and irony, perfect for banned members. <3

Ah, alright. I thought that face was a bit... creepy. Perfect for the "banned" usergroup.

:P If you think awesome face is creepy, don't go near Anime sites. I love the character, I'm actually going to make a anime siggy with awesome face in it :P.

It's a universal "character", so to speak? Wow... I thought it was merely a weird smiley face.

They are placed in the banned usergroup with no permissions and given a rank saying "On Vacation".

That's a kind way of putting it. ;) It's not as embarrassing, that's for sure.

The reason I like it is because a vacation can be of any amount of time or even permanent. Therefore if someone is banned for a week, theyre on vacation, if theyre banned permanently, theyre still on vacation but forever :D

So is there away you can strip a single banned person from even viewing your site...at least using their main IP?

The only way I would use is denying them in .htaccess if you want them to not view anything at all :D

I laugh as well at the reason why that account was banned. Though the page is epic fail.
