I am looking for a few animated smilies that are similar in size, quality and style as the ones that I use on my site. You can see my existing set here: vBCodex - Smilies I would prefer them in APNG format but know that I will probably have to be satisfied with GIF files. Anyone know of any?
It would be nice to see the .APNG format to take off but I feel this will be another .mpng scenario where it will fall flat on it's face which is a real shame. With regards to a similar set, I'm not sure I can help you but I did design a w.i.p set which is nearest I've designed and previewed them over at the org (preview below if you don't want to click the link). Being a w.i.p they are still in development so I'm not sure when they will be finished though when they are they will most likely be posted at the org for everyone who wishes to download. I worked with Andrew Gallant for about a year and a half on the wtcbb project as the designer. I think the project died as soon as he sold it.
Ah yes, I thought so. I haven't been in touch with Andrew for quite a while - perhaps I should shoot him a greeting soon. Alright... back on topic!
The wtcBB issue was made public a week or two ago on another forum where Nick and I took part in. I still can't understand the underlying scheme of it all. Wonderful smileys, how many layers are these?
Have you tried SweetIM? It offers a free downloadable software with thousands of animated emoticons, smilies, winks and nudges that you can use in your blogs, forums and web-based email apps. Check them out!
Thought about it but the opening scream, err page, is too annoying that I won't be dealing with that software package. I know it is meant to be humerous but it is simply annoying when sites do sound like that.
I was really looking forward to seeing Shelley's complete set. I guess she is busy with her new site amongst other projects.
I've been working on the set and still designing the set. Since last time, I have quite a few designed I got to 48 smilies thus far with most of them animated. Preview below I couldn't be bothered uploading each one individually though most are animated the ones I kept static are in .png format.
Once I get some more free time I will be commence on these. Obviously, I have to draw the line somewhere on the amount that the 1st pack will consist of, seeing as I said 50 it will be a little more because I'm using rows of 12 therefore the 1st pack will consist of a total of 60 smilies and then I'll release them.
