Lately, I've been seeing the accolades next to people's avatars, and I couldn't help but wonder what they are for. Do they get them for making some contribution to the site? Just wondering.
Hiya. Right now we just have a few, but we can technically make them for *anything*. Addicted to McDonalds French Fries? We can give you the cholesterol award! If you see the money bag, it means that person has donated to our site to help keep it active. If you see a little wheel it means that member is supporting our folding@home project... We'll be seeing alot more of them soon that we'll give to people we feel should have one, let me know if there was a specific one that YOU might want too though okay! -Jason
I can feel the guys at Stanford wretching... It's not a little wheel... it's a molecular chain. Specifically, it's a molecular image of a non-specific protein, which is what the Folding@Home project deals with. If you're interested in learning more about Folding@Home, please check out the Folding@Soup forum.
Well, if you have any questions, read through the Folding@Soup forum, and post any questions you have there. We'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the project.
Hey. I would like to see a Contributor award for people who have done so much for the site, even if they have not donated. Maybe they help out a lot, maybe they make constructive posts, you know, good stuff.
"even if they don't donate" he says.... see http://www.aliensoup.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7927 ya bums. and dont give me no lip about it!
Did you notice a Journal problem? Aside from no direct and easy link to view comments other than clicking on 'make comment' hehe. As for the accolades, you haven't seen them for about 4-5 days or so, been trying to trace a bug that occured during the new software update from 2.3.0 to 2.3.2. They appear in the area where you see peoples little journal icons inside their posts.
