Updated my test version of 4.0.4 PL1 to 4.0.5 and nothing broke...

That thud you heard was me falling off the chair in disbelief.

I wan't saying it didn't come out, I meant "no way it didn't break anything"...

And yeah, I see a whole 60 bugs have been fixed...

I took a 4.0.4 PL1 site that has 1 thread, 3 posts, 4 users (all me) and 1 modification to 4.0.5 just to verify the modification still worked and to see if any of our clients would need to do anything to keep our mod working.

Given that limited need there was no breakage.

So many updates these days, you would think these would have been sorted out before releasing to the public in a beta rather than releasing it rushed as they did. Good luck to all those updating their site each week or so, I wonder how many downloads a downgrade from vb4 script would get in one week, now that would say everything :)

They released it as rushed as they did to make big revenues in Q4 of last year to report to the street.

What worries me is that vB 4 is moving along at a snail's pace. Ray Morgan told the street they'd have vB 5 revenues expected within 1.5 to 2 years. That means vB 5 money will be expected between May and October of 2011.

I have been waiting to upgrade my forum to vb 4, is now the time to do it?

Instead of updating to the latest version of 3.8X, I'am thinking of buying the publishing suite and jumping on the vb 4 band wagon.
