Name: The Infinity Program URL: http://theinfinityprogram.com Description: Miscellany: There are three layouts to choose from (not including the one for mobile devices).
Thank you. The layout is by ExtremePixels, but the customizations (e.g., banner and background) were done by Saint, one of my fellow administrators.
I am embarrassed to admit that I do not know of this "smacklan's design house". I have a feeling that you may be referring to a website that is now gone, though, as I understand there was a vbstyles.net (as opposed to vbstyles.com, which is the website where I got the layout you refer to), a well known vBulletin layout design website that is now gone.
Yes, vbstyles.net is gone and that was smacklan's...he goes by John now over on XenForo and his new design has opened under the name of XenStyles and you may also be familiar with Miko (don't remember his design house name over with vb, but his is ThemesInc
Medora, need to get with your host and see what is wrong. Your site is temp offline. I did a ping and all seems well with your dns.
My host is reliable; the fault is actually my own, as I should have waited until after the planned downtime before advertising my forum. Recently, I enabled SSH, which required a move to a new server. The migration is complete, but there is still something that needs to be done, and which will be done within 24 hours. After that I have to update some information in a file and then the forum should be back up. As to why I am enabling SSH, it is a more reliable way to back up my now over 90MB database; I have been using phpMyAdmin to back up, and the problem is that it tends to cut off early.
If everything goes according to schedule and there are no unexpected problems along the way, I am hoping to get the forum back up within 48 hours. I will update this topic when the forum is back up. Sorry; I really hate the down time, and I was glad to know that my forum is always up, but I decided the downtime is worth it to make sure that I can reliably backup the database every day by being able to use SSH.
I wasn't implying they weren't but even the most reliable can have a glitch esp if you are on a vps or a dedicated. And you do something to pull it down by accident. But NO host has 100 % uptime...best one can do is 99.9999999999, usually giving advance notice when there is maintenance. Glad to hear you knew of the issue.
Oh, I did not take your comments as a stab at my host, and I certainly do not believe there is such a thing as perfect up time. Sorry. I could have phrased what I said better, as I only meant that my host has been so good with up time and this rare problem is my fault.
Just to clear confusion up: There is no such thing as unlimited/unmetered everything No such thing as 99% uptime. Even Reliable hosts are some what not reliable to some. Just depends on your luck.
