There are not many MODs for VB5 at all, the excuse given was the early upgrades broke them, so most developers decided to walk away until VB5 had stabilised.

As for anti Spam MODs I'm not sure, but it does have Askimet and Stop Forum Spam built in, perhaps that is the reason.

The skinners are gone too. So not only do you have to run a stock board because there are no addons you have to use the default theme or one of those shiny new themes that they include now.

You can see by the way things are going that vbulletin as downloadable product is about dead and they know it. They unveiled the cloud version and at the same time they are trying to make it easy for those that buy it to control the software without having to upload anything hoping that will breathe some life into vbulletin.

I think vBCloud is their best hope to save vBulletin 5.

If you only own photopost classifieds, its cheaper to buy a new license than renew for a year :D
Best classifieds for vb3 was vbclassifieds
The owner of that brought out the software because of poor updates, then disappeared after a year

    Hello,

Coding vB5 addons for whom and why?

1.- For whom? : The vB clients droped dramatically last year. So no market even for free mods. Give a look at vB.org for vB4 Mods. I know at least 25 new mods, good mods I can say, from different coders (including me), with an average of ~20 installations. What it means? No chance even for donations to coder, much more for PRO versions.

2.- Why? : Coders (and much more designers) got a cold shower when vB4 came in life. They had to recode all their scripts, to redesign all their templates. Most of coders/designers wasted a lot of valueable time to recode/redesign everything. But this is something that happens once. Nobody is willing to waste time to recode/redesign his work for any new mayor release.

Considering not many are willing to spend their money on the new release it isn't surprising forum owners (who have mostly transitioned elsewhere) are not willing to support the coders either.

It is time for everyone to face that VB5 is dead most likely sooner than later and there will be no version 6!

Think about this for a minute; Every VB5 site is a beta site! You just have to look at the cloud to know that this true.

Just went on the org to see if there were any new add on's or a massive surge in vb5 popularity
No one looking at the vb5 mods
In fact, there were more people looking at the 3.6 mods than vb5

I am surprised people still discuss vb5 or even vb at all with the exception of legacy forum support questions.
