Thinking about buying XenForo or IPB

Like I said in the above post, they charged me four invoices of $175

 

Just to say, from my understanding they have merged IPB 4 into version 3, what was planned for the version after 3 is no more and all features from it are now planned for the 3.x stages to come, so they don't have 2 versions running side-by-side.

That's what I've heard (read) anyway.

 

I'm pretty upset with IPB's billing department to be honest. I can't believe they charged me four times when I only ordered one.

 

they charged you $700? Oh wow, that definitely sounds strange.

 

Yup - I told them I didn't authorize it and still haven't gotten a response from them.

I'm going to XenForo, can't deal with IPS. I just want to make sure they cancel the charges though.

 

They do not work in the weekend and the people that do cant help out with this issue you need to wait till Monday office hours in the US.

 

Borg is right, it is just now Monday in the east coast US(where they are).

Leaving for IPS because of a billing issue and switching to XF for that reason alone isn't the sounded thing to do. Simply because if it happened, it was probably a glitch, which could happen with anything.

Now if they didn't refuse you or made it difficult to refund you, then i can understand being pissed and ready to move on to XF.

 

Think I'd be a bit concerned though if getting 4 separate involves for $175 each. As that makes it looks as though you've been charged that sum 4X. You've not ordered 4 licenses by mistake have you?

 

No I only ordered one and I am really happy with xF

lol i was like what's going on to IPB when that happened and you are right about xF having less free mods than IPB

 

Yeah you're going to have pay for some mods
The one thing pisses me off is the lack of a good store mod

 

yeah honestly a lot of these paid mods should be free or already included in the system tbh like vBulletin has.

 

What mods are you looking for. I've only bought a few mods - and those are generally the larger ones, that take time and effort to write - so worth buying (especially when the support on them is so great ). It's funny, because I always found it hard to find a decent free mod on IPB - to me everything appeared to be for sale there too. Just goes to show, I think, how perception works.

Just because I haven't used it doesn't mean I don't keep up to date on what's going on I still have a licence and I do regularly look at the IPS forums.
