All rather strange, I cannot sign in as usual but I can sign in using a proxy. All very mysterious.

Any errors? What is the ip you are using when you try to sign in normal?

I am using the same IP as I have been using for the last few years, you will have access to see it. In the "log in or sign up" part it just changes the colour and I see a three bar count down that never stops. It is comparable to the "discourage user" program. Even in proxy mode it keeps logging off.

I made an adjustment that might solve it. Let me know if it helps.

No it is the same. I tried bypassing my shortcut but still the same. I cannot log in with my usual method and IP

Not sure what could be happening as everything looks normal from this end.

It seems that admin-talk has altered some settings recently.

If I white-list the site with "disconnect" then I can log in. Although I am showing 70 alerts.

I am hoping to get some much needed activity to the site.
Get away from the fan wars of the software where this software is the best, this software sucks(we have the "popular" forum for that).

One thing I have been missing since I joined admin forums in 2012 a place to literally LEARN and discuss issues and gain knowledge/experience. Admin Extra was that site(And at one Point during the Brandon Era, Admin talk was that way).

With Adex merge into taz, I've lost that type of site. I learned a lot of good tips then and frankly i've now more or less spent most of my times on admin forums debating the merits or lack thereof of various software.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it and it is quite amusing watching Zealous go crazy if you bash their software. But being that this is Admin-Talk, I am hoping that we ADMINS will do that and talk. I'd hate for this to become another place where the vocal majority of a popular software sort of drown out and outnumber the minorities of various software. So i am keeping optimism and hoping for the best!

Big al, I can assure you we are not trying to block you from this site. Please work with @BamaStangGuy to get this resolved. If needed hit him up via a private message to get his email. We need to figure out what's causing this to make sure it's not causing an issue for anyone else!

Great, we'd love to have you spend more time here. The more we share on ideas how to foster high quality communities the more all our sites can benefit. In the end most of the ideas translate to which ever forum software someone uses, usually in just slightly different ways. The important thing is that we learn from each others successes and failures! If you know other forum Admins who might enjoy a forum for admins that is on a more advanced level, please let them know that Admin-Talk is headed in that direction. I don't have any secret tools to magically make this place active but if we all work together starting interesting discussions and spreading the word we can bring her back to life again!

@Andy R. Thank you for the explanation. From what I can make out there are some recent changes that have been made to admin-talk.
Possibly connected to the tracking activities of Google adsense?? (I am showing 59 requests from Google alone on "Disconnect" ) What ever they are, they are impacting on the security settings that were not affected before the changes.

I do not have access to what changes are taking place, but they do seem to be affecting the members security aspects regarding tracking and scripts etc.

I can only talk about my experiences and that I have not changed any of my settings in the past few days, except to try to be able to log in AFTER I found out that my access was restricted. I am sure that others will be affected IF they have some similar security settings in place.

We are not running AdSense so I'm not sure what that could be. We did just install Google Analytics yesterday so maybe that's it? That should not effect anyone's experience on here in any way...

I am picking up on my no script the following:

    Facebook.net
    Facebook.com
    Twitter.com
    bb3.co
    Google- Analytics
    Google user content
    gstatic.com
    Google .com

Even with these allowed, I was still having the same problem until I whitelisted admin-talk on "disconnect" And this was across multiple OS's

After having two keyloggers put on my pc and having been stalked and harassed for over seven years by some scammers I exposed and helped close down many of their scam websites, I do tend to use a lot of security now, probably more than other members, but it is the basic ones (like "No Script" and "Disconnect") that seem to be responsible for stopping me logging in.

Well it looks like you can post now so I assume everything is working fine. The only thing that changed from yesterday to today was the addition of Google Analytics, a very benign and well trusted tool.

My guess is one of those plugins is stopping some kind of javascript or other code involved with logging in. Especially if whitelisting us fixes it.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Now the question is can the plug in responsible be altered or removed?

I was referring to the plugins on your browser. We are actually using less add-ons here since the purchase.

I think it's Google Analytics which we won't be removing. He's logged in now so lets move on.
