I agree. At least scrap 'themes' entirely and include numerous default styles individually. Similar to WordPress where default themes are still known as 'themes' and can even be removed. Too many naming confusions.
Well, that is just a continuation of missing conceptual standardization, which plagues vB5. The CMS, um the Article System, um no, the CMS being one other and Channels and Forums, no, they are channels, but still forums, is another. Scott
Both vb com and org have been down most the day as well, so there must be one hell of an upgrade going on somewhere Looking at the content areas on vb now, forums, articles, blogs and groups, there will be a lot of moderation needed or it will be a spammers paradise to moderate
Paul M. said it's internal storage issues (which is presumably a hardware failure). vBulletin.org is down too.
So much for the implementation of the reactive style in vb5 http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...customer-feedback/4100643-vbulletin-on-tablet Looks like that needs a bit more work going by the image in that thread
Here's a thing. This is the image in question. While you can save it as a full sized image from vB5 (with a right hand mouse click), you don't appear to be able to view it full size in vBulletin 5. How ridiculous is that? And just in case I'm not making myself clear, here's a screen shot of the post in question with the light box active. You'll notice it's so good they named it twice
Just checked on Marks test site and the same problem is there http://www.talknewsuk.com/testvb/member/7-lee-g/media You might need to bleach your eyeballs after if you click on that link
The semi-useless light box I can understand insofar as someone made a bad choice and it's been left to stand. It's not a bug as such just really bad design. The dual message at the bottom of the box is unforgivable. vBulletin reps have always banged on about having to pass code changes through Quality Assurance. Why? I'd would have sacked the lot of them years ago and given the job to a school leaver.
The problem is that the Q&A team have no power what-so-ever. They can not stop a release from happening, they can not say to management "Oh, hey this is broke, it shouldn't be released like this". The Q&A team is just for show and tell. It really is useless. The only thing they can do is find bugs and enter them in to JIRA, when the software is released is at the discretion of management, which really have no clue what is going on.
That does sound credible, there's been a lot to suggest that the majority of vBulletin's problems lies with the management.
Well, management is both the problem and contributing to the problem. They aren't paying for solid developers. They are recruiting and hiring people who can't find employment elsewhere. Those who join with some skill realize how futile it is to work there pretty much leave as soon as its feasible. Then management sets some unrealistic deadlines and timelines. This vBulletin 4 Project Cartoon is still very much applicable to the current state of affairs at Internet Brands. http://www.projectcartoon.com/cartoon/71700
Duel messages? Your having a giraffe It gets better, found a thread on another forum that shows just how bad that one is :O http://www.woodworkingchat.com/foru...46-weirdness-when-i-click-on-photo-thumbnails Nice looking forum that one
Just posted a thread on the customer support forum and then counted how long it took for the thread to publish Roughly 1 second counts, counted to 60 before the post was active For some reason, replies are quick, post a new thread and you can have a shit and a shave in the time it takes
