I have never been married to one script. If IPB 4 blows me away then I will consider it. Right now I'm happy with xenforo and with the direction they are taking it. If things start to stagnate with xenforo development and IPB 4 is what I think it will be then I'll look seriously at converting.
I hope so. I miss Admin Addict being on IPB, AT has always been on XF(at least as long as I have been here) but I hope that maybe AWS may consider making the site more diverse since nearly all admin sites, unfortunately, use xenforo.
Your reasons for moving to IPB are because: Other admin sites use xenForo and you miss another forum being on IPB.
My reason for wanting AT to go Ip Board(or any other software for that matter) is the same reason I want to see others try a different software. I tolerate XF as a member, as it is not that bad as a member but as an admin, I don't care for it. And given that nearly all the admin forums currently around use XF, there really is nothing unique about any one admin forum as they generally have the same look, feel and even 3rd party add-ons. I'd like to see some diversity in admin forums as I can generally visit at least 3 admin forums right now who generally have the same exact look and feel plus the same exact members(You and I are members of some of the same admin forums, Bama lol) to the point I may as well just STAY on one site if it is the same. So I guess my reason is...I'd like to see it for some diversity instead of just being "Another admin site". Especially seeing as AA was on IP board before the merge of the sites.
It doesn't bother me. I'd rather go for content and not forum software. I'd still be on TAZ (vB 3) if it wasn't run so horribly.
I will be focusing on developing for 4.0 when it's released. I think 4.0 is going to be a game changer for those needing a serious software package.
I got to say, even though I am a fan of IPB more than any other software, stick with with XF. It makes everyone happy and it works If it works, stick with it. Plus this design is quite nice and it easy to navigate.
Because there isn't anything wrong with xenForo. Unless there is some grand master plan that is going to tie in the $400 or so dollars worth of IPB add-ons into this site... then you will just be buying another basic forum software that from the looks of the screenshots, doesn't look much different than xenForo. I notice they have embraced alerts in 2014 finally. Good for them.
